GFRC Artificial Rocks and Boulders

Concrete Art Design Company boulder and monumental castings are manufactured from Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). GFRC is a composite material consisting of Portland cement, fine aggregate, water, alkali resistant glass fibers and additives, which when mixed in proper proportions achieves construction grade physical properties that allow it to be used for numerous applications, especially those where weight is a significant factor.

The mixture is sprayed into molds taken from natural rock and bolder formations. The glass fibers combine with the cement to create strength without adding mass and weight.

Natural stone has many limitations, so consider the alternative lightweight GFRC precast rock. These realistic and durable GFRC castings are highly detailed and replicate the look and feel of natural stone. Compared to a 3000 lb. natural boulder, a similar sized GFRC casting would weigh approximately 180 lbs. making an installation much faster and easier, especially in areas where access is limited. Consider the advantages of GFRC.
